Installation of our Docon® 7 blood mixing scale in a modern blood donation and plasmapherese center in Gießen, Germany.
In addition, a bidirectional communication to an external server system was installed in the project.
Bidirectional communication is mainly used to ensure donor safety. During the blood donation process in Docon® 7, donor data is automatically sent to the blood donation registration PC and compared. This happens, for example, when the donor identification barcode is scanned. Predefined donation volumes can also be requested via barcode scan and automatically transferred to the scale settings.
This means that it is not possible to mix up blood reserves at a busy blood donation date. It’s detected by the blood mixing scale and the operator is informed. The donation volumes can also be selected individually and reliably in this way.
We thank for the successful implementation and wish all the best for the future.
