A short interview with Head of Production, Mr. Marc Stuwe, who has been part of the company for about 2 months now. We talked to him about his first impressions, his daily work and his previous experiences.
Mr. Stuwe, please tell us something about your previous stations, projects and experiences.
My last position was in the automotive supply industry, in an international group with 4500 employees, 10 locations and 680M€ turnover per year. As head of process development, I was responsible for the (further) development of production technologies for products that could not be manufactured on existing equipment. The projects in which I have been involved are various, for example in the technological revolution & evolution in the areas of extrusion, vulcanization, thermoforming, injection molding, assembly, automation, etc. So my core competence is the management of process development, factory construction and technology transfer in this context..
What similarities or differences have you noticed at Möller Medical with regard to your previous experience?
There are certainly some noticeable similarities. Production at Möller is also extremely complex and the vertical range of manufacture is very high. This can be explained by the diversity of the products.
For me, the product environment is new. The motivated working environment here at Möller directly impressed me. The working methods are strictly regulated and still very employee-oriented. Möller Medical has a good internal network and a high degree of flexibility in production.
What are your tasks and areas of responsibility?
My tasks are to manage production and the associated responsibility for manufacturing our products on schedule, in line with costs and quality.
This goes hand in hand with the responsibility for the operational and organisational structure of our production here at our headquarters in Fulda.
What does this mean in practice? What does your daily work actually look like ?
The beginning and end of my working day is a production walkthrough in which I can be contacted by all colleagues. In between, a few regular appointments and meetings help me to control my daily production tasks. I am still in the orientation phase – in the process of getting to know the people here at Möller. Of understanding and questioning structures and processes.
Last but not least: We would like to know whether you have already familiarized yourself with the new situation. Do you feel comfortable ?
Twice yes 🙂
I feel well – without doubt.
I have certainly already familiarized myself to a certain degree. A comprehensive overview of all functions in production and the relevant connections to other areas will emerge in the coming days and weeks.
